Junior Quickstart:  Beginner entry level for junior players ages 6-12.  The tournament offers graduated court sizes and both foam ball and low compression ball divisions.  This is an excellent way to introduce a child to the fun of competition without having to develop all of the necessary skills for full match play.

Junior Satellite: Beginner to advanced levels for

junior players ages 7-18.  Players are required to know and abide by all USTA rules and etiquette of tennis and match play skills including serve.  The tournament features three co-ed skill levels.

Gold (advanced)

Silver (intermediate)

Bronze (beginner)

Eastside Shootout: Open to all non-ranked junior players, players play at least three matches.  No awards are given but players accumulate points for entering and victories. Play is a regular 6 game set with a tie breaker at 6 all.

Eastside Super Set Series: Three to four matches guaranteed, two set per match, tie breaker to decide the third set.

Net Series:  Non-elimination tournament held over a three to four hour time period. Open to non-members so players are encouraged to register .

Southeast Michigan Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned tournaments for ranking purposes.  Age divisions are 10, 12, 14, 16,18 and under.  Ask one of the teaching pros for a list of tournaments.

Court Reservations
Making a Reservation

Tennis court reservations may be made up to one week in advance. Courts can also be reserved on a "same day" basis, by phone or in person. Please be advised that courts are reserved using a first come-first serve policy. When reserving a court, be prepared to give your name, membership number, and tell whether you are playing with another member or a guest. Before hanging up, please remember to confirm your court date and time.

Canceling Reservations
If you wish to cancel a reservation, lesson, or other program, a minimum 24-hour notice is required. "No shows" and late cancellations may be charged if the court cannot be re-sold.

Other Information
A randomly reserved court will only be held for fifteen minutes past the designated time. After that time, the court may be assigned to another player, and the reservation will no longer be valid. If the court time you desire is not available, you can ask the attendant to place you on the waiting list. If there is a cancellation, you will be notified that the court is available.

Top

Court Etiquette
Players should not enter a court until their reserved time begins. Clocks throughout the club are synchronized to indicate the end of the hour. On-court players should relinquish their court (after any ongoing points are finished) when the next players arrive.

Junior Tennis Programs
Nobody gets benched in tennis! It is a game for everyone. Compare our program with any around...great instruction, a lifetime of memories, and a lot of fun. The content of the lessons from level to the next is generally the same, but the pace of lessons will vary according to the ability of players. For players interested in a fast track towards tournament and team play, a customized schedule can be arranged to meet your child's goals. We will do our best to work around team sports and other after school activities.

Full Junior Memberships

Juniors are encouraged to take out a full junior membership. The membership allows the junior to "charge" privileges. This allows the junior to book courts and charge the court fees to his or her account (with parental consent, of course).

Ten Week Junior Memberships
Juniors are automatically members of Eastside for the ten weeks that they are enrolled in a junior program, if the program fee is pre-paid in full. Fees that are charged by an adult to their Eastside account do not qualify the junior for a free membership. Junior ten week members do not have charge or guest privileges. Therefore, they may not bring family or friends to Eastside who are not members. Ten week junior members may book courts up to one week in advance but must pay for the court at the time the reservation is made. All junior members may receive a special walk-on rate.  Walk on time may not be reserved more than an hour in advance. Juniors who walk on must play with another junior member!
